NYC.gov reports that Staten Island has the cleanest air in NYC.

According to the first ever New York City Neighborhood Air Quality Report, that was released yesterday, Staten Island has the cleanest air in all of the boroughs. The neighborhood with the dirtiest air happens to be Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

The study attributes the pollution to a heavy truck traffic and a high concentration of oil burning boilers in commercial and residential buildings.
